Job Description

Western Downs Motor Inn is hiring a Full time Chef role in Miles, QLD.

We are seeking an experienced Chef to join our agile team. The ideal candidate should have a passion for cooking, a keen eye for detail and be committed to delivering an exceptional dining experience. Minimum 3 years' experience as a Chef.

Strong knowledge of cooking techniques, kitchen equipment, and food safety standards. Excellent leadership and communication skills. Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Key Responsibilities

- Food Preparation: Ensure all food is cooked to the appropriate temperature and quality.
- Oversee preparation, cooking and presentation of all food items.
- Maintain high standards of hygiene and Food safety in the kitchen.
- Detailed knowledge of menu items.
- Quality Control:



Address and resolve any issues related to food quality and consistency.
- Kitchen Management: Manage stocktakes, including ordering, stocking, and supplies.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen environment.
- Implement and monitor safety procedures to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Administrative Duties: Schedule and manage kitchen staff shifts or rosters.
- Maintain accurate records of recipes, stocktake and orders.

Qualifications

- Certificate IV Commercial Cookery or equivalent or higher.
- Current First Aid Certificate (maintained by employee).
