Melbourne Health & Care Services (MHCS) is seeking experienced, reliable, and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team, supporting participants in Murrumbeena and Clayton.
Current Shift Availability
- Monday: 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
- Wednesday: 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
- Friday: 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm
- Friday: 10:00 am to 2:00 pm
These shifts are available for an immediate start, with opportunities to increase your hours over time through additional shifts across our growing participant base.

We are particularly seeking support workers who have demonstrated experience supporting participants with complex mental health presentations, including providing community access, social support, and implementing person-centred strategies to promote engagement, wellbeing, and independence.
About the Role
As a Disability Support Worker with MHCS, you will provide person-centred support to participants within their home and community. You will assist participants to build independence, engage in the community, achieve personal goals,
and maintain their daily living skills while providing professional and compassionate support.
This role may involve
- Personal care support
- Community access and transportation
- Social support and engagement
- Emotional support and de-escalation
- Assisting with daily living tasks
- Completing progress notes and incident reporting
- Supporting participants with complex behaviours and verbal aggression
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous disability support experience
- Experience supporting participants with mental health and complex behaviours
- Confidence managing verbal escalations in a calm and professional manner
- Solid communication and documentation skills
- Reliable, compassionate, and professional approach
- Current driver’s licence
- Reliable vehicle preferred
