We are seeking a registered Chinese Medicine Practitioner and Acupuncturist to join our clinic in Clayton, Melbourne, on a part-time basis.
The role involves providing general Chinese medicine consultations, acupuncture and appropriate treatments for a broad range of common health and musculoskeletal conditions.
This position is suitable for both experienced and newly registered practitioners. Previous clinical work experience is not essential, as structured clinical training and ongoing professional support will be provided.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional Chinese medicine consultations and acupuncture treatments
- Assess patients’ conditions and develop appropriate treatment plans
- Provide Chinese medicine and musculoskeletal treatments within the practitioner’s registered scope of practice
- Prescribe or provide Chinese herbal medicine only where appropriately registered and authorised to do so
- Monitor patients’ progress and conduct appropriate follow-up consultations
- Maintain accurate and compliant clinical records
- Provide professional, respectful and patient-centred care
- Comply with clinic policies, clinical procedures, infection-control requirements and professional standards
- Work collaboratively with members of the clinical and administrative teams
- Participate in clinical training and professional development activities
Registration and Qualification Requirements
- Current general registration with the Chinese Medicine Board of Australia through AHPRA in the Acupuncturist division
- Registration in the Chinese Herbal Medicine Practitioner division is required where the practitioner will prescribe or provide Chinese herbal medicine
- Relevant degree or recognised qualification in Chinese Medicine
- Professional indemnity insurance arrangements that meet applicable AHPRA registration requirements
- Valid working rights in Australia
Other Requirements
- Previous clinical work experience is not required
- Strong interest in clinical practice and continuous professional development
- Responsible, self-motivated and willing to receive clinical guidance
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Proficiency in English
- Ability to communicate in Mandarin and/or Cantonese is desirable to support patients who prefer to communicate in these languages
Salary and Employment Details
- Part-time employment
- Base pay starting from AUD $36.00 per hour, or the applicable minimum rate under the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020 for the employee’s classification and pay point, whichever is higher
- Statutory superannuation will be paid in addition to the base hourly rate
- Applicable penalty rates, overtime payments and allowances will be paid in accordance with the relevant Award and legislation
- Regular part-time hours, generally across 3 to 5 days per week
- Average ordinary working hours will be fewer than 38 hours per week
- The regular working pattern, including weekly hours, working days and daily start and finish times, will be agreed in writing before employment commences
- Working hours will be based on the clinic’s operating schedule
