Family Lawyer - Senior Associate / Special Counsel

Village Family Lawyers is a progressive, growing, boutique family law practice with beautiful office premises situated in both Malvern and Mount Eliza in Victoria.

We are seeking to employ a passionate family lawyer (Senior Associate/Special Counsel) with a minimum of 5years of post-admission family law experience . This role is for either the Malvern or Mount Eliza office.

Ideally, the position is full-time, however; substantial part time hours would be considered. I.e. 4 full days, or school hours over 5 days. A hybrid (office/home) model would also be considered.

- excellent organisational and communication skills;
- experience with proceedings in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia, Court appearances and instructing Counsel;
- broad experience in complex parenting and financial/property matters, maintenance applications, divorce and Intervention Orders;
- precise legal drafting;
- a commercial and resolution focused mindset;




- a willingness and passion for mentoring less experienced practitioners;
- competence with cloud-based practice management software. E.g. Smokeball, or similar software;
- attention to detail and management of deadlines; and
- an interest in networking with allied professionals.

Candidates with post-graduate qualifications in the following will be highly regarded

- LIV Specialist Accreditation in Family Law;
- Master of Laws (Family Law).
