Durack Civil
Queensland
Durack has spent the last seven years building a civil infrastructure business that now operates across Queensland, New South Wales and the Northern Territory. Along the way we've expanded into property development, mining infrastructure, electrical services and plant hire, and we're only getting started.
We're looking for an M&A; Manager to work directly with our founders to identify and execute acquisition opportunities that support our long-term growth strategy.
This is an opportunity to have a genuine influence on the direction of the business. You'll be involved from the earliest discussions with business owners through to transaction completion and integration.
Whether it's a civil contractor, electrical business, mining services company or another strategic acquisition, you'll play a key role in helping us grow.
About the role
You will be responsible for sourcing and assessing acquisition opportunities across Australia, building relationships with business owners and supporting transactions through every stage of the process.
Key responsibilities include:
- Identifying businesses that align with Durack's growth strategy.
- Building and maintaining relationships with founders and business owners.
- Assessing commercial, financial and operational performance.
- Preparing financial models, business valuations and investment recommendations.
- Coordinating due diligence activities with advisers and internal stakeholders.
- Assisting with negotiations and transaction execution.
- Supporting integration planning and implementation following acquisitions.
- Monitoring industry trends and identifying emerging opportunities.
- Working closely with the executive team on strategic growth initiatives.
About you
You may come from an investment banking, private equity, corporate advisory, accounting, commercial management or corporate development background.
More importantly, you're commercially minded, naturally curious and enjoy finding opportunities that others might overlook.
You'll ideally bring:
- Experience assessing businesses, acquisitions or investment opportunities.
- Strong commercial and financial analysis capability.
- Confidence dealing directly with business owners and senior decision makers.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Sound judgement and attention to detail.
- The ability to operate independently and manage multiple opportunities at once.
Experience in construction, infrastructure, mining or industrial services would be highly regarded, but is not essential.
Why join Durack?
This is an chance to work directly with the people making the decisions.
You'll have significant autonomy, exposure to confidential business matters and involvement in transactions that can materially influence the future direction of the group.
You'll gain exposure across a diverse range of sectors, including:
- Civil infrastructure
- Electrical and utilities
- Mining services
- Plant and equipment
- Property development
We move quickly, make decisions without layers of bureaucracy and back people who bring initiative and good ideas.
What we offer
- Direct access to founders and executive leadership.
- Significant responsibility and autonomy.
- Competitive remuneration package.
- Performance incentives linked to completed transactions.
- Long-term career growth opportunities.
- The chance to play a key role in building a diversified Australian infrastructure group.
