Federation Children is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Assistant Educator - Certificate 3 to join our childcare team in Geelong VIC 3220. This is a fulltime position that plays a vital role in supporting the development, wellbeing and learning of children in our care. As an Assistant Educator you will work alongside our qualified educators to create nurturing, safe and stimulating environments where children can thrive, learn and grow. This role is essential to our commitment to providing high quality early childhood education and care services to our community.

What you'll be doing

- Supporting qualified educators in the planning, implementation and evaluation of learning activities that promote children's development across all developmental domains
- Assisting with the supervision and care of children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and engagement at all times
- Helping to maintain clean, hygienic and well organised learning environments that are conducive to children's play, exploration and learning
- Supporting children with daily routines including mealtimes, rest time and personal hygiene practices
- Observing and documenting children's learning and development to contribute to individual learning plans
- Building positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Assisting with the implementation of policies and procedures related to child safety, health and wellbeing
- Supporting educators in responding to children's individual needs, interests and cultural backgrounds
- Helping to create inclusive, welcoming environments that celebrate diversity and promote belonging




- Contributing to a collaborative team environment and supporting the delivery of quality childcare services

What we're looking for

- Completed or currently working towards a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or equivalent qualification
- A genuine passion for working with children and supporting their learning and development
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with children, families and colleagues
- The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and follow the direction of qualified educators
- A commitment to child safety, wellbeing and duty of care
- Understanding of and commitment to inclusive practices and cultural diversity
- Physical capability to engage in active play and support children's physical activities
- A current Working with Children Check or willingness to obtain one
- First Aid and CPR certification (or willingness to obtain within the first three months of employment)
- Reliability, punctuality and a positive attitude towards ongoing professional development
