This is a unique opportunity to work for a large Mid-Tier in the Sydney market. They build from start to finish, ensuring optimum consistency, cost efficiency and quality of finishes on every project they take on. This builder works across a range of industries from residential and hotels, retail, industrial, data centers, commercial, sport and recreation and health projects. Typically, projects range from $50m - $300m and they have an array of strong blue-chip clients that they work with from their relationships in NSW, QLD and VIC. They are renowned for possessing a superior level of expertise and experience in the industry and winning awards for building excellence.

WHAT'S ON OFFER

This head contractor is looking for a Senior Estimator to work in this established builder's new subsidiary pricing for Refurbishment / Fitout projects. Projects are typically priced from $10m - $50m and will be in a multiple of sectors including health, pharmaceutical, government, museums etc. This client has one of the better Estimating departments in the Sydney construction market and have a excellent culture throughout the business. The role would also suit someone looking to make a step into an Estimating Manager position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Preparation of initial estimating assessment of tenders




- Perform trade break ups of documentation, appropriate trade subcontractor selection lists. Liaise with subcontractors to ensure they have a full understanding of the required scope of works and programme
- Liaise with the construction teams to finalise tender submission price prior to issue
- Final preparation and presentation of rated and coded Bill of Quantities and / or cost plan for internal review and issuing appropriate information to stakeholders
- Comparison and analysis of subcontractor pricing
- Regular meetings with subcontractors throughout the tender period to ensure the most competitive pricing and accurate bids

KEY REQUIREMENTS

- Tertiary qualification in Construction Management, Civil Engineering or Quantity Surveying
- Minimum 7-10 yearsLOCAL experience Estimating Refurbishment / Fitout projects for a principal contractor in a multiples of disciplines, if you have health experience that's a big plus
- Experience across the spectrum of tendering formats (competitive lump sum through to cost planning and negotiated design and construct projects)
- Able to produce cost plans / budget estimates with limited information
- High level computer skills and numeracy including the following programs: Buildsoft or equivalent, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project and Microsoft Word
