This is a hands-on role that offers the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial solar and battery installations while also providing leadership and mentorship to apprentices and junior team members.
The successful applicant will be a proactive problem solver, committed to quality workmanship, safety, and delivering outstanding project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform secure and compliant installations of sodium-ion battery energy storage systems, solar PV systems, and hybrid power solutions.
- Complete electrical work to AS3000:2018, AS4777.1:2020, AS5033:2021, AS 5139:2019, AS3008:2025 (Including all latest amendments) and other relevant Australian standards.
- Conduct site inspections and assist with system design, procurement and DNSP Connection Agreements.
- Conduct testing, commissioning, and handover of completed systems.
- Work closely with the Project Manager and engineering team to ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Maintain detailed documentation and service records for all installations.
- Provide high-quality workmanship and excellent customer service on every site.
- Travel to project sites across SEQLD and occasionally interstate as required.
Candidate Profile The ideal candidate will have:
- SAA (Solar accreditation Australia) accreditation for design and installation of grid connected solar and battery systems (essential), off-grid systems highly desirable.
- Current Queensland Electrical Licence (Electrical Fitter Mechanic).
- Proven experience in solar PV and battery storage installations.
- Strong knowledge of S3000:2018, AS4777.1:2020, AS5033:2021, AS 5139:2019, AS3008:2025 standards.
- A strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Full Australian working rights and a current driver’s licence.
- A genuine passion for renewable energy and clean technology.
- Experience with lithium or sodium-ion battery systems.
- Previous experience in off-grid or hybrid power systems.
- Training or mentoring experience (highly regarded for team leadership and apprentice training).
