In this role, you will plan, develop, coordinate, and review plant design and piping work on large projects with specialised requirements. You will be responsible for optimising facility layouts based on diagrams, client needs, current technology, and operational/maintenance requirements. Your technical input will be critical in ensuring configuration compliance, meeting procurement requirements and resolving complex design issues.

Key Duties:

- Evaluate, select, and apply standard plant design and piping engineering methods to prepare original design layouts, details, drawings, and specifications.
- Develop and interpret design criteria for complex plant design and piping infrastructure.
- Examine and analyse pipe configurations for strict ANSI/ASME code compliance.
- Optimise facility layouts based on Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs;).
- Analyse and report on the suitability of unconventional materials, techniques, and complex coordination requirements.
- Prepare equipment, work, and material specifications, as well as procurement and subcontract requisition documents.
- Perform technical bid evaluations and provide award recommendations.




- Coordinate plant design engineering efforts with specialty groups, engineering disciplines, vendors, contractors, and construction teams.
- Prepare Testing Plans and Hydrotesting procedures, monitor field installation, and liaise with Construction Supervisors to resolve technical or non-conforming issues.
- Prepare daily tangible quantity reports, progress reports, studies, estimates, and material take-offs.

What We’re Looking For:

- RPEQ Certification (Required).
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or international equivalent) with 8–10 years of relevant experience, OR 12–14 years of highly relevant work experience.
- Sound technical knowledge of piping engineering: calculations, specifications, material/valve selection, P&ID; development, pipe wall thickness, and branch connections.
- Pipe stressing capability and experience using Caesar II, Autopipe, or other relevant pipe stress software.
- Experience with 3D model review software, specifically Navisworks and Navigator.
- Solid working knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
- Advanced safety awareness and an ability to review and implement construction procedures safely.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities to resolve conflicting design requirements.
