Vehicle Preparation & PDI Manager – Warehouse (Clayton)

Harmony Auto is a fast-growing automotive group representing leading EV brands including BYD and DENZA. As our business continues to expand, we are seeking an experienced Vehicle Preparation & PDI Manager to lead our warehouse operations based in Clayton.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the end-to-end vehicle preparation process, including Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), quality assurance, vehicle rectification and team leadership. Working closely with logistics, dealership and operations teams, you will ensure all vehicles are prepared to the highest manufacturer standards before delivery across our dealer network.

This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for managing the end-to-end vehicle preparation process, including Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), quality assurance, vehicle rectification and team leadership. Working closely with logistics, dealership and operations teams, you will ensure all vehicles are prepared to the highest manufacturer standards before delivery across our dealer network.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead and manage the daily operations of the Vehicle Preparation and PDI team.

- Supervise, coach and develop a team of PDI Technicians, Automotive Technicians, Accessory Fitters and warehouse staff.

- Plan and allocate daily workloads to ensure vehicle preparation targets are achieved.

- Oversee Pre-Delivery Inspections (PDI), vehicle rectification, software updates and quality assurance processes.

- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with manufacturer specifications, company procedures and quality standards.

- Monitor workshop productivity, quality and turnaround times, implementing process improvements where required.

- Coordinate closely with logistics,



warehouse and dealership teams to ensure vehicles are delivered on schedule.

- Oversee warranty rectification, campaign work and vehicle quality issues where required.

- Maintain a safe, clean and compliant workshop environment in accordance with Workplace Health & Safety requirements.

- Prepare operational reports, monitor team performance and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Skills & Experience

- Proven experience in a Workshop Manager, PDI Manager, Workshop Supervisor, Vehicle Preparation Manager or similar leadership role.

- Qualified Automotive Technician (Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent).

- Recognised Electric Vehicle (EV) qualification/certification is highly regarded.

- Strong leadership experience managing workshop or technical teams.

- Extensive knowledge of vehicle preparation, Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), quality control and workshop operations.

- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills with sound mechanical and technical knowledge.

- Experience using manufacturer diagnostic equipment and workshop management systems.

- Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.

- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.

- Current Australian Driver Licence.

Highly Regarded

- Previous experience working with BYD, DENZA or other EV manufacturers.

- Experience managing high-volume vehicle preparation or warehouse operations.

- Experience overseeing warranty repairs, recalls and manufacturer campaigns.

- Forklift Licence.

- Experience implementing process improvement initiatives within workshop or warehouse environments.
