Role details

The AODS and Specialist Teams at the Mackay Community Health Centre is seeking applications from a Senior Occupational Therapist or Senior Psychologist or Senior Social Worker or Clinical Nurse Consultant to join their team on a permanent basis.

Your opportunity

The purpose of the Together in Mind (TiM) Coordinator will be to co-ordinate and deliver the “Together in Mind” day program. Together in mind is a collaborative perinatal and infant mental health community-based program developed by the Queensland Centre for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health (QCPIMH) and funded by the Department of Health.

Together in Mind provides psychoeducation and support for women who have a diagnosed moderate to severe mental illness in the postpartum period. The program is designed as an adjunct to community mental health treatment and may also function as a step up/step down support for women recently discharged from inpatient mental health care. Together in Mind is collaboratively facilitated by clinical staff from adult mental health, child and youth mental health and child health services.

The successful candidate will demonstrate high levels of clinical knowledge and understanding of perinatal mental health and the importance of the first 2000 days, including infant mental health.





The Together in Mind Coordinator will report organisationally to the Team Leader of the Specialist Team and professionally to the Nursing Director. The Together in Mind Coordinator will work closely with the Perinatal Mental Health Clinician and the Perinatal Infant Mental Health Clinician.

About The Team

The Division of Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs is comprised of eight clinical teams across the MHHS. The Mental Health Service is responsible for the provision of comprehensive, specialised mental health assessment and treatment services across the age-spectrum for people with severe and complex mental health problems. Our services aim to be consumer focused and recovery oriented and are provided in a variety of settings including community, an acute inpatient unit, hospitals and emergency departments.
