Senior Civil Engineer - Leadership Pathway

van der Meer Consulting is a multidisciplinary engineering consultancy delivering civil, structural, hydraulic and fire engineering services across Australia.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our established Melbourne team, with a genuine pathway into the Victorian Civil Manager role.

About the Role

Working closely with State Management and the broader leadership team, you will initially focus on strengthening project delivery while progressively taking on broader leadership responsibilities.

As your role develops, you will have the opportunity to contribute to business development, client management and team leadership.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Delivering land development, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects across Victoria.
- Managing projects from concept through to construction.




- Providing technical leadership and mentoring engineers.
- Building and maintaining client relationships.
- Assisting with proposals, fee submissions and project planning.
- Supporting the continued growth of the Victorian Civil team.
- Progressively developing into the Victorian Civil Manager role.

About You

You will bring:

- Bachelor of Civil Engineering.
- Approximately 10 to 15 years' experience within a civil engineering consulting setting.
- Experience delivering land development, commercial, industrial and infrastructure projects.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing projects and mentoring junior engineers.
- Chartered Qualified Engineer (CPEng), or working towards Chartership.
- RPEV registration, eligibility for registration and/or MRWA accreditation will be highly regarded.
- Commercial awareness and an interest in developing client relationships and business opportunities.

You’ll be supported by an established national Civil leadership team and work alongside experienced Civil Managers who are committed to mentoring and developing future leaders.

Rather than expecting you to arrive as a finished Civil Manager, we’ll provide the prospect, support and autonomy to grow into the role.
