From the Outside Looking In
We just had one of the most eye-opening conversations we've had in a while with an Aged Care Leader we've known and followed for a few years now. Watching him step into a role where he finally gets to use everything he's built up over a decade in this sector has been genuinely satisfying to watch from the outside.
His view on care is straightforward. No home needs a grand piano and a chandelier in the foyer. People want a comfortable home and responsive service, and the new rights-based Aged Care Act now backs that up with law. He's been through everything the sector has thrown at him from bushfires, COVID and the Royal Commission, and rates this reform as one of the most significant changes the industry has seen in that time. But he's never been more excited about the sector's future than he is now.
Insights From The Inside
We've already spoken with his colleagues, and the word that keeps coming up is standards. He raises them, and he's direct about what excellence actually looks like. He's the kind of leader who gets into every home himself, asks the awkward questions,
and looks for the gap between what's on paper and what's actually happening. His team rates the impact he's made, and he's only just getting started. He's now looking for someone to come in early and help build the next stage with him.
Your Future At A Glance
- As with any multi-site portfolio, performance varies home to home, and part of this role is closing that gap.
- You’ll be building consistent clinical policy and governance across the group, and lifting the capability of the clinical leaders in every home.
- You’ll need to be comfortable engaging with the Board. The formal side, like board-level reporting conventions, isn’t something you need to have already mastered. They’ll guide you through that.
On Offer

- A work from home day to be agreed with the GM RAC
- Self-directed travel to homes, planned around your own judgement rather than a fixed roster
- A team to support your efforts
What you'll need
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Several years in senior clinical governance or clinical quality, ideally across multiple sites
- Experience writing and reviewing clinical policy
- Extensive experience in Residential Aged Care
- Full Working Rights in Australia
