Stock Controller – Food and Material Aid
The BCO Stock Controller – Food and Material Aid works collaboratively with the BCO Minister/Coordinator in responding to the needs of vulnerable people in Boroondara. The position plays a key role in the team coordinating the sourcing, stock management and distribution of emergency relief and material aid for BCO.
In addition to being the stock controller, the incumbent is welcoming, compassionate, and diligent when engaging with participants. The person in the role is mindful of people’s complex needs, and the diversity of people presenting such as people living with a disability, families with school age children, older people, students, and people with CALD (Culturally and Linguistically Diverse) backgrounds.
The position works alongside the Volunteer Coordinator and volunteers. They distribute food relief and material aid, and manage stock including collection, storage and retrieval. Additionally, the position assists with needs assessments, outreach services, referrals to external supports, and contributes to pastoral support.
This is a full time ongoing role, located in Kew, Victoria.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
- Relevant certificate or qualification suited to the position
- Minimum 3 years in a similar role
- Experience in stock management such as acquisition, delivery,
collection, storage and distribution, and responsible manual handling
- Experience in a supervisory role
- Proficiency with MS Office, document management, and data collection
The successful candidate will:
- Obtain and maintain a Working with Children’s Check.
- Be subject to satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
- Maintain a full Victorian Driver’s Licence with the ability to drive a larger van.
- Agree to obtain a Mental Health First Aid Certificate (BCO supported training and first aid allowance provided).
- Agree to abide by the UCA Child Safe Policy, and the Child Protected Code of Conduct
