Accounts Assistant – 12 Month Maternity Leave Cover

We are a multinational joinery design company specialising in the manufacture, assembly and installation of high-quality cabinetry and joinery for residential and commercial properties. Based in South East Melbourne, we are seeking a detail-oriented Accounts Assistant / Bookkeeper to join our small, supportive team on an initial 12-month contract to cover maternity leave.

This role will support day-to-day bookkeeping and basic tax preparation while ensuring accurate financial records are maintained.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform bookkeeping and accounting duties using Xero
- Provide tax and compliance support
- Assist with preparation of BAS, ensuring GST and other tax obligations are met
- Assist with preparation of Profit & Loss statements and cost analysis

About You

- Experience in bookkeeping, accounting or a related finance role
- Proficient in Xero and Microsoft Office
- Solid attention to detail and organisational skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills; fluency in Mandarin advantageous
