Casual position with regular ongoing shifts for the right applicant.
Ardent Disability Care is seeking an experienced Casual Support Worker to join our team supporting an adult participant in the Eight Mile Plains area.
We are seeking a compassionate, reliable, and professional Support Worker with experience supporting adults with physical disabilities and mobility needs. This role involves providing person-centred support in the participant's home and within the community, assisting them to achieve their goals while promoting independence, dignity, and choice.
Reliability, consistency, and the ability to build a trusting, long-term support relationship are essential.
About the Role
As a Support Worker with Ardent Disability Care, you will provide one-on-one, person-centred support in accordance with the participant's individual support plan.
Supports may include community access, transport to appointments, assistance with activities of daily living, personal care as required, light domestic assistance, social participation, and promoting independence.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support with activities of daily living.
- Support safe community access, appointments, shopping and recreational activities.
- Assist with mobility and the safe use of mobility equipment where required.
- Promote independence, confidence and skill development.
- Complete light household tasks related to participant support.
- Follow support plans, policies and care instructions.
- Maintain accurate shift notes and documentation in line with NDIS requirements.
- Communicate effectively with participants, families and the Ardent Disability Care team.
- Uphold professional boundaries, confidentiality and organisational policies.
- Assist with safe transfers and manual handling in accordance with the participant's support plan and training.
What We’re Looking For
- Previous disability support experience (essential).
- Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (essential).
- Current Blue Card (essential).
- Current First Aid (HLTAID011) and CPR (HLTAID009) certification (essential).
- Certificate III or above in Individual Support, Disability, Aged Care, Community Services, or equivalent (essential).
- Experience supporting adults with physical disabilities, mobility support, or complex support needs highly regarded.
- Experience with community access and capacity-building supports highly regarded.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and commitment to rostered shifts.
- Ability to build rapport while maintaining professional boundaries.
- Solid communication skills and the ability to follow support plans and care instructions.
- Current driver's licence and reliable, comprehensively insured vehicle (essential).
