Clinical Nurse Unit Manager - Anaesthetics | Southeast Melbourne, VIC
An exciting prospect is available for an experienced Clinical Nurse Unit Manager – Anaesthetics to join a well-established private acute hospital in Southeast Melbourne.
This newly created leadership role will be responsible for the effective operational management of the Operating Theatre – Anaesthetics department, providing strong clinical leadership and supporting the delivery of high-quality perioperative care. Reporting to the Perioperative Services Manager, the successful candidate will work alongside the Scrub NUM, lead the Anaesthetics specialty team and oversee the day-to-day management of theatre operations.
You will play a key role in workforce management, staff development, quality improvement, and maintaining excellence in clinical standards. Working collaboratively with Cath Lab, PACU, Day Surgery and multidisciplinary teams, you will contribute to a positive patient experience and efficient theatre performance.

About You
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
- Bachelor of Nursing
- Previous senior perioperative nursing leadership or management experience
- Strong experience within operating theatres, preferably in Anaesthetics
- Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and support nursing teams
- Experience managing workforce requirements, labour hours, agency utilisation and performance indicators
- Strong understanding of ACORN Standards, ANZCA guidelines and ACHS National Standards
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and decision-making skills
- Proven ability to drive quality improvement initiatives and clinical excellence
