Our client is seeking a reliable and proactive Commercial Cleaner to join their Mental Health Services team based in Travancore.
This role is primarily focused on maintaining exceptional facility hygiene, with a small driving component. You will spend roughly 95% of your time cleaning, with courier duties making up just 5% of the role (approximately 2 hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays only).
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys working independently, takes pride in maintaining high standards, and has a strong commitment to safety, service, and teamwork.
Hours: 30 hours per week (6 hours per day, Monday to Friday)
Shift Times: 8:30am – 3:00pm
Driving Hours: ~2 hours on Tuesday & Thursday only (5% of total role)
Cleaning Hours: Remaining shift times across Mon–Fri (95% of total role)
Your Responsibilities
Primary Responsibilities (95% of Role – Cleaning & Maintenance)
Maintaining high standards of cleanliness throughout clinical and office environments.
Floor care, high dusting, damp wiping, and spot cleaning (walls, doors, glass, bathrooms, toilets, vents, equipment, and kitchen electrical items).
Waste collection and disposal.
Replenishing consumables and maintaining stock levels.
Ordering cleaning supplies and monitoring inventory.
Ensuring all cleaning equipment is sanitized, maintained, and stored safely.
Adhering to infection control, workplace safety, and quality standards.
Secondary Responsibilities (5% of Role – Courier Driving: Tue & Thu)
Transporting items such as mail, cleaning supplies/chemicals, medical records,
and computer equipment using a fleet vehicle across client sites (including Sunshine, Brimbank, Tarneit, Travancore, and Parkville main campus).
Maintaining vehicle records and electronic transport logs.
Conducting basic vehicle checks and reporting maintenance issues.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
Current and unrestricted Victorian Driver's Licence.
Previous experience in a Commercial setting (mandatory).
Previous experience working within a healthcare, hospital, aged care, or community services environment. (Desirable)
Prior courier driving or facilities support experience (preferred but not mandatory).
Strong time management and organizational skills.
Valuable written and verbal communication skills.
Basic computer skills (email and electronic record-keeping).
Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to a team environment.
