About the Role:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to join our client’s small and agile team.
This itinerant role will focus on providing professional engineering services across mining,
container handling, and heavy industry sectors.
Your primary responsibility will involve engineering management and equipment compliance
auditing---spanning mining operations, container terminals, and heavy earthmoving equipment.
You will collaborate closely with mechanical engineers, mining companies, container terminal
operators, and equipment OEMs to ensure safety compliance and operational excellence.
This role offers a unique opportunity to work across diverse heavy industry environments while
advancing asset management and reliability improvement methodologies. Self-motivation,
strong technical expertise, and willingness to travel are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and review engineering management and safety management system coordination
Conduct equipment compliance auditing to Australian and International Standards
Perform ongoing inspection and reporting of critical infrastructure including container
cranes
Lead technological improvement projects and small works packages
Develop equipment specifications and support asset management projects
Provide onsite engineering support, relief work, and statutory engineering coverage
Create budget estimates and project scoping for engineering initiatives
Facilitate and review risk assessments across multiple client sites
Support mobile and fixed equipment procurement processes

Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years' experience in electrical works (combination of industrial trade and
engineering)
Expertise in heavy industry electrical systems (mining and container handling
equipment)
Diploma to Degree qualifications in Electrical Engineering
Demonstrated knowledge of WHS legislation and Australian Standards for heavy
industry
Experience with 3+ years of mine site or container terminal (port) operations
Project management and supervision experience with budget and schedule
development
Strong interpersonal communication and technical report writing skills
Must be eligible for MSIC clearance and able to pass drug/alcohol and police checks
Highly Regarded Additional Qualifications:
Practicing certificate – Electrical Engineer (Under WHS Mines and Petroleum Sites
Regulation 2014)
CPEng, NER and/or RPEQ certifications
Asset management software experience
Reliability investigations and defect management expertise
Site engineering experience (underground, open-cut, or fixed plant processing)
Port operations engineering expertise
Risk assessment facilitation and development skills
