Senior Software Engineer (Python / AWS / Distributed Systems) - 200,000-250,000 Bonus

Responsibilities

- Design and build scalable backend platforms supporting trading, portfolio management and quantitative research.
- Develop cloud-native applications, APIs and distributed systems using Python, AWS and modern engineering practices.
- Build real-time data pipelines and high-performance services processing large volumes of investment data.
- Collaborate directly with portfolio managers, traders and quantitative researchers to deliver innovative technical solutions.
- Drive engineering best practices across architecture, testing, CI/CD, security and long-term platform development.

Experience

Required

- 5 years' commercial software engineering experience.
- Strong Python development experience.
- Experience with Django, Flask or FastAPI.
- Strong backend development and API design experience.
- Experience building distributed systems and cloud-native applications.
- AWS experience.
- PostgreSQL or other relational database experience.
- Experience delivering products from concept through to production.




- Strong communication skills and a genuine ownership mindset.

Desirable

- React or TypeScript.
- Docker and containerisation.
- Event-driven architectures or messaging systems.
- Real-time or low-latency systems.
- Financial services, capital markets or trading platform experience.
- Experience working within high-growth engineering teams.
