The Opportunity

Orrcon Steel is looking for a Mechanical Fitter (Tooling) to join our team in Unanderra . Orrcon Steel is a manufacturer of steel tube and pipe and leading Australian steel distributor with nationally recognised brands.

The role involves assembly, installation and refurbishment of mechanical tooling associated with our steel processing plant. Hands‑on maintenance services will support production teams in a continuous manufacturing environment. The position operates on an alternating day and afternoon shift roster consisting of 8‑hour shifts.

What Will You Do?

In this hands‑on role you will ensure equipment is maintained to the highest standards for safety, quality and reliability. Responsibilities include:

- install, assemble and refurbish machine tooling
- stocktake spares
- inspect quality critical equipment and fault‑find
- participate in roll change and preventative maintenance




- assist in continuously improving tooling processes

More About You

Qualifications and experience:

- mechanical fitting/machining trade qualifications
- experience within a maintenance function
- experience working independently and as part of a manufacturing team
- strong attention to detail and ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
- commitment to your own safety and wellbeing and care for others
