The Spectrum Organization is a community based not for profit servicing the Brisbane North and Moreton Bay regions, specialising in providing high quality holistic supports for people living with disability. This contractor engagement sits within our Spectrum Professional Intervention and Clinical Evaluation Services (SPICES) team.

We are seeking a Behaviour Support Practitioner, endorsed under the NDIS Quality & Safeguards Commission guidelines as an independent contractor who prefers the flexibility and autonomy of contracting. You will work alongside other practitioners offering a welcoming collaborative environment, where there are always options to troubleshoot or float strategy ideas with others. At Spectrum, we recognise knowing our participants as being integral to offering a quality service, so being willing to spend face to face time with a client and their caregivers is essential.

About the engagement

As an independent contractor you will hold your own ABN, invoice for services delivered, and manage your own tax, superannuation and insurances, including professional indemnity and public liability cover. Hours and scheduling are arranged around service demand and your availability.

What You’ll Do

- Collaboratewith other behaviour support practitioners within the organisation.
- Provide comprehensive assessments, evidence-based treatment, therapy planning and clinical reporting to clients with disabilities in line with best practice and based upon sound clinical reasoning.
- Maintain detailed and accurate client records, updating them after each visit or interaction.




- Schedule appointmentsand liaise with your clients, stakeholders and multidisciplinary team members to ensure efficient and effective best practice.
- Deliver supportsin accordance with the relevant legislation and guidelines e.g NDIS Practice Standards.

What you will bring

- Completed tertiary studies in a relevant field (Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Speech Pathology, Special Education or similar)
- Knowledge and experience within the disability industry
- Knowledge and expertise in industry regulation, including the NDIS and restrictive practices
- Strong communication, interpersonal, organisational, planning and analytical thinking capabilities
- Ability to motivate support staff and influence the development of behaviour practices
- Ability to sustain productive working relationships, maintain confidentiality and work empathetically with formal and informal care givers
- Personal drive, resilience and integrity
- NDIS worker clearance and Blue Card, or ability to obtain both

Contractor requirements

- Professional indemnity and public liability insurance, or ability to obtain prior to commencement
- Capacity to invoice for services and manage your own tax and superannuation obligations
