About the Role

Smith & Co is partnering with a leading industrial contractor to recruit experienced Trade Assistants for a large maintenance project in Weipa. Flying FIFO from Brisbane, you’ll work alongside mechanical and engineering trades across a busy project environment, providing hands-on support with maintenance, installation and general trade-related activities.

Salary & Benefits

- $60 per hour flat rate
- 2 weeks on / 1 week off roster
- FIFO from Brisbane to Weipa
- Immediate start available
- Initial 3-month project
- Potential for project extension
- Large-scale industrial maintenance exposure

Key Responsibilities

- Assist mechanical and engineering trades with maintenance activities
- Support equipment installation, removal and general mechanical works
- Prepare tools, materials and work areas for tradespeople
- Operate EWP equipment where required and within licence conditions




- Maintain secure, clean and organised work areas throughout the project

What You’ll Bring

- Previous Trade Assistant experience in industrial or maintenance environments
- Current Coal Board Medical
- Current EWP licence
- Ability to work a 2/1 FIFO roster from Brisbane
- Availability for an immediate start and commitment to the project duration
