About the role

Smart Start Interlocks is seeking a full time Collections Officer to join our team in Heidelberg West. As a Collections Officer, you will be responsible for contacting customers, negotiating payment plans, and ensuring timely collection of outstanding interlocks.

What you'll be doing

- Proactively reach out to customers with overdue accounts

- Negotiate and collect payment arrangements

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all customer interactions and payment plans

- Engage our network & 3rd parties to remove interlocks

- Provide regular reports on the status of outstanding accounts and collection efforts

- Maintain a skilled and empathetic approach when dealing with customers

- Contribute to the continuous improvement of the collections function

What we're looking for

- Experience in a collections role preferred

- Strong communication and negotiation skills,



with the ability to handle difficult conversations

- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with a keen eye for detail

- Resilient and persistent, with the ability to work under pressure
