About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil / Structural Draftsperson to join our growing team. In this role, you will be responsible for producing high-quality technical drawings and models for a diverse range of rail and road infrastructure projects.
Working closely with engineers and multidisciplinary project teams, you will transform engineering concepts into accurate, compliant and constructible documentation across all stages of the project lifecycle, rom concept design and detailed design through to Issued for Construction (IFC) , As-Constructed and As-Built documentation.
This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled draftsperson who enjoys solving technical challenges, improving drafting processes, driving drafting excellence, and mentoring junior team members while contributing to the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects.
Key Skills
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Extensive experience in civil and structural drafting, ideally within rail, road bridge or transport infrastructure projects.
- Advanced proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Revit or similar CAD and modelling software.
- The ability to independently produce accurate, high-quality and coordinated engineering 2D and 3D technical drawings and documentation.
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings, technical specifications, survey data and design coordination.
- Experience preparing documentation across all project stages, including concept, detailed design, IFC and As-Built drawings.
- Sound knowledge of Australian Standards, drafting standards, client drafting requirements and infrastructure compliance requirements.
- The ability to identify design clashes, constructability issues and site constraints, and work collaboratively to resolve them.
- Excellent attention to detail, organisation and document control skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with engineers, project managers and multidisciplinary teams.
- Experience mentoring or supporting junior drafting staff and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
- A commitment to workplace health and safety, quality and producing high-quality technical outcomes within project timeframes.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering Drafting, Structural Drafting, Engineering Design or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience working on civil and structural infrastructure projects, particularly within the rail and/or road sectors.
- Advanced knowledge of industry drafting software, standards and technical documentation practices, including quality assurance processes.
- A current Australian driver's licence and willingness to undertake site visits when required.
