Psychologist (Contract Opportunity)
Hawkesbury Region (On-site) & Telehealth (Hybrid/Flexible)
- Arrangement: Independent Contractor (ABN required)
- Remuneration: 60% of Billings (increasing by 1% annually up to a 65% cap) + percentage of collected cancellation fees
- Schedule: 1 to 5 days per week (completely customized to your availability)
- Caseload: Children, Adolescents, and/or Adults (tailored to your clinical areas of interest)
- The Opportunity: Clinical autonomy, no billing targets, and complete control over your schedule—with dedicated support.
A Note from the Practice Founder:
If you are feeling the weight of high caseloads, rigid KPIs, and the constant pressure to see "just one more client," we want you to know there is a different way to practice.
We believe that to care deeply for others, you must have the space to care for yourself. Our practice is built on the foundation of sustainable, high-quality care. Here, we measure success not by the number of chairs filled, but by the warmth of our therapeutic relationships and the well-being of our clinicians. If you are ready to step away from burnout and reclaim the joy of clinical practice, we would love to welcome you.
About the Opportunity
We are seeking a warm, deeply empathetic Registered Psychologist to join our practice on a versatile contract basis. This opportunity is designed to adapt entirely to your professional goals and personal commitments.
Whether you are looking for 1 day a week to supplement your current work, a full 5-day week, or anything in between, this arrangement can be customised to meet your needs.
Whether your clinical focus lies in supporting children, teens, adults, or across the lifespan, we will work with you to curate a caseload that aligns with your qualified interests and capacity. By offering a hybrid model, you can enjoy the connection of face-to-face sessions in our peaceful Hawkesbury rooms, alongside the flexibility of working from home on telehealth days.
Why This Opportunity is Different
- Competitive 60% Split with Cancellation Protection: A transparent financial model. When late cancellations occur, you still receive your 60% split of the collected fee.
- Contract Longevity Incentive: We value long-term, stable partnerships.
To reward your commitment to our practice community, your commission split will increase by 1% for each year of continuous partnership (up to a maximum cap of 65%).
- Completely Customisable Schedule: From 1 to 5 days a week, you choose the days and hours that work for you and your lifestyle.
- No Billing Targets or Client KPIs: You decide how many clients you see each day. If your preference is 4 clients a day to ensure you can show up fully and mindfully, we respect and support that.
- Clinical Autonomy & Work-Life Balance: Practice your way. Set your own hours, determine your clinical boundaries, and take leave when you need it to recharge.
- Full Administrative Support: We handle the administrative tasks—intake screening, scheduling, billing, Medicare processing, and fee follow-up—so you can focus entirely on clinical care.
- A Warm, Inviting Space: Our Hawkesbury clinic is designed to feel calm, protected, and welcoming for both you and your clients.
Support for Recently Registered Psychologists
While this role offers high autonomy, you do not have to walk alone. This opportunity is highly suitable for recently registered psychologists.
We understand that transitioning into independent practice is a significant step. To support your growth, confidence, and clinical safety, you will have access to regular supervision and mentoring with our Principal Psychologist. We provide a warm, collaborative safety net where you can discuss complex formulations, ethical questions, and practice management in a supportive, non-judgmental space.
Who We Are Looking For
We are looking for a practitioner who naturally balances clinical competence with deep warmth and empathy. You will thrive in this environment if you are:
- A Lifespan or Focused Practitioner: Passionate about working with children, adolescents, adults, or a combination of these groups.
- Ready for Independent Practice: Eager to develop your clinical independence, formulation skills, and ethical decision-making with supportive backing.
- An Advocate for Self-Care: Someone who recognises that a healthy work-life balance is essential to being an effective, ethical therapist.
Is This the Right Fit for You?
To help you decide if this collaborative partnership aligns with your professional style, please consider the following:
- Are you comfortable being the driver of your own practice? While we provide a steady stream of high-quality referrals, full administrative support, and professional mentoring, you will be responsible for managing your own diary, setting your clinical boundaries, and deciding your weekly capacity.
- Do you possess the clinical confidence to work with support? This opportunity is designed for a psychologist who is ready to manage their own caseload, utilising the supervision and guidance of our Principal Psychologist to refine their skills and formulation.
- Are you looking to run your own business within a supportive framework? As an independent contractor, you will have clinical autonomy. This role is perfect for someone who enjoys being their own boss and taking active ownership of their caseload, backed by a collaborative practice.
Requirements
- General Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Eligibility for a Medicare Provider Number.
- Active Australian Business Number (ABN).
- Professional Indemnity and Public Liability Insurance.
