About the role

As a Workplace Relations Specialist, you will provide case management services and advice on a range of people management matters across the Department. This includes performance management, conflict and issue resolution, conduct and behaviour matters, and other employment-related issues. You will also provide industrial relations support and advice.

- Undertake complex and critical case management across a broad range of employee and industrial relations matters.
- Lead the development and implementation of strategies to effectively resolve workplace issues.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders including employees, unions, departmental managers.

This is a fixed-term 12-month position working 73.50 hours per fortnight (minimum 58.80 hours per fortnight by negotiation) and may be based in Hobart, Launceston, or Devonport.

Our ideal candidate

- Demonstrated expertise and substantial experience in industrial and employee relations.
- Proven ability to provide strategic, high-level HR advice and support to managers and employees.
- Strong knowledge of HR policies, procedures, legislation, regulations, and industrial Awards, with the ability to apply and interpret them effectively.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deliver authoritative, practical, and solution-focused advice.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes within tight timeframes.
