Project Officer - Reform Project

Drive business process improvement and operational excellence across a major regulatory reform program.

Fixed Term 1 Year

Salary range Grade 4: $92,600 -$105,064

Join a major transformation program at the Victorian Institute of Teaching (VIT) and play a pivotal role in modernising how professional conduct matters are managed across Victoria's teaching profession.

About the role

Reporting to the Project Manager and working closely with project leads, subject matter experts and senior stakeholders, the Project Officer plays a critical role in supporting the successful delivery of the Professional Conduct Branch Reform Program.

You will be responsible for developing high-quality operational documentation, supporting governance and reporting activities, coordinating stakeholder engagement, and contributing to change initiatives that support the successful implementation of reform outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

- Support the delivery of a major reform program through effective project coordination, governance support and stakeholder engagement.
- Translate legislative, policy and business requirements into practical procedures, work instructions, process guides and implementation-ready documentation.
- Document and improve current and future-state business processes to enhance operational efficiency and consistency.
- Coordinate governance activities, including preparation of agendas, papers, minutes, action registers, decision logs, risk registers and project reporting.
- Monitor project milestones, deliverables, risks and issues, ensuring accurate tracking and timely escalation where required.
- Facilitate stakeholder consultation, requirements gathering, testing and implementation readiness activities.




- Contribute to change management initiatives that support the adoption of new processes and ways of working.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and contribute to the successful implementation of reform outcomes within a complex regulatory setting.

About you

You are an organised and motivated project professional who enjoys bringing structure, clarity and practical solutions to complex work environments.

You have experience supporting projects, documenting business processes and coordinating governance activities, and you can confidently work with stakeholders to translate requirements into meaningful outcomes.
