About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, hardworking and physically fit Exotic Production Team Member to join our Exotic Mushroom team.
This is a hands-on role involving the day-to-day production and handling of exotic mushrooms. The work is physically demanding and involves regularly lifting and moving mushroom logs, substrate bricks, trays, crates and other production materials.
We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced farm environment, follows instructions from the Team Leader, and is proactive in finding the next task rather than waiting to be told what to do.
This is a full-time position averaging 38 hours per week across 5 days, including both Saturday and Sunday(necessary). Working hours may increase or decrease depending on production requirements. Employment conditions, including ordinary hours, overtime and penalty rates, will be in accordance with the Horticulture Award.
Responsibilities
- Carry out daily exotic mushroom production activities as directed by the Team Leader.
- Lift, carry and move mushroom logs, substrate bricks, trays, crates and other production materials.
- Load, unload and move materials throughout the production area.
- Assist with mushroom harvesting, handling, packing and general production activities as required.
- Operate a forklift and other farm equipment where appropriately licensed and trained.
- Keep production and working areas clean, organised and safe.
- Follow food safety, hygiene, biosecurity and workplace safety procedures.
- Work efficiently and maintain a good pace throughout the shift.
- Follow Team Leader instructions and work cooperatively with other team members.
- Proactively identify tasks that need to be completed and assist the team without needing constant supervision.
- Assist with other general farm and production duties as required.

Qualifications
- Physically fit and comfortable performing repetitive manual work throughout the day.
- Able to regularly lift and move heavy production materials without difficulty.
- Reliable and willing to work hard in a physically demanding farm environment.
- Available to work 5 days per week, including both Saturday and Sunday.
- Able to follow instructions and work effectively under the direction of a Team Leader.
- Proactive attitude with the ability to identify and complete tasks without constant supervision.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced production environment.
- Strong commitment to workplace safety, hygiene and quality.
- Able to work both independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Forklift licence and forklift operating experience will be highly regarded.
- Previous experience in mushroom farming, horticulture, agriculture, warehousing or other physically demanding production environments.
- Experience working with farm or production equipment.
