Our Federal Government client is seeking an experienced Data Analytics and Reporting Specialist to join a high-performing finance team responsible for delivering strategic financial reporting, analytics, and systems improvements. This role requires a highly capable data professional who can source, transform and interpret complex data into meaningful business insights while supporting financial reporting systems, automation initiatives, and continuous improvement activities. Working within a collaborative finance environment, you will engage with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality reporting solutions, business intelligence, and data-driven decision support.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

- Source, transform and interpret data into actionable metrics and business insights.
- Produce a suite of reports, analyse results and interpret complex datasets using standard and advanced statistical techniques.
- Manage business and technical reporting activities including requirements gathering, solution design, testing, user training and rollout.
- Translate complex technical information into clear, meaningful reporting for stakeholders with varying levels of data literacy.
- Deliver continuous improvement initiatives through automation of reporting and effective use of enterprise data warehouse information.




- Develop and maintain operational procedures, user guides, manuals, job aids, forms and technical documentation.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders regarding complex or sensitive reporting and financial data matters.
- Contribute to the ongoing enhancement of finance reporting systems and analytics capabilities.

Essential Requirements:

- Demonstrated experience using SAS (Enterprise Guide, Viya and/or Visual Analytics).
- Strong experience writing and optimising complex SQL queries and programs.
- Experience developing reports and dashboards using Business Intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Business Objects or similar.
- Experience using Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service (Enterprise).
- Experience working with SAP, ideally within the Public Sector Collections & Disbursements (PSCD) module.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Experience delivering reporting automation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Desirable Skills:

- Experience working with the Federal Government environment.
- Knowledge of Snowflake.
- Experience using Git, Bitbucket and SourceTree.




- Experience supporting finance reporting systems and enterprise data warehouse environments.
