Job description:

Position overview

Join Our Team as a Production Support Technician at allnex! This position will be based in Wacol, Brisbane QLD and to in charge of running the chemical manufacturing processes in our automated Reactor systems. In this role, you will ensure the efficient operation of plant equipment, maintaining safety standards, and conduct quality control testing. Advancement into senior technician and leadership roles is available for operators displaying organisational, project management and leadership attributes.

Responsibilities

- Execute day-to-day operations and plant monitoring.
- Issue, manage, and sign off on safe work permits (General, Hot Work, and Confined Space).
- Perform minor maintenance, fault-finding, and basic servicing on machinery and equipment.
- Oversee site safety compliance, ensuring all hot work and confined space entry protocols are strictly met.
- Assist with basic trade-related tasks to minimize plant downtime.
- Operate and monitor automated reactor systems from the control room.
- Load reagents into the reactor via pumps and hatches.
- Ensure efficient operation of plant equipment, including pumps, mixing vessels, dispersers, reactors, and filtering equipment.
- Operate Filtration and Packing Equipment to prepare finish.
- Complete batch documentation, logs, and checklists accurately.
- Adhere to operational procedures and safety standards.
- Conduct quality control testing of finished goods.




- Work with significant autonomy to run chemical manufacturing processes in our advanced automated reactors.

Required skills and experience

- Forklift license is required.
- Proven experience in a plant operator, process, or production environment.
- Demonstrated experience with Work Permit Systems (specifically Hot Work and Confined Space entry).
- Robust mechanical aptitude with experience performing minor maintenance.
- Excellent risk-assessment skills and high attention to safety details.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including reasonable overtime.
- Excellent housekeeping skills with a focus on quality and systems.
- High initiative and a proactive attitude.
- Physical ability to handle manual tasks, including lifting up to 20 kg.

Desirable Skills

- Experience in the chemical industry or a similar field.
- Certification or experience with dangerous goods regulations and hazardous materials storage.
- A relevant mechanical or electrical trade qualification is highly desirable (e.g., Fitter, Electrician, Boilermaker).
- Current certifications for Confined Space Entry and Gas Test Atmospheres (or willingness to obtain).

Qualifications

- High school diploma or equivalent.
