The Catholic Diocese of Cairns is seeking a Parish Support Manager to provide operational, financial, property, and administrative leadership across the Innisfail, Babinda and Silkwood Parishes. Reporting to the Parish Priest, this role is central to ensuring the effective stewardship of parish resources, supporting parish staff, and helping our church thrive through efficient operations.
As Parish Support Manager, you will:
- Lead and support parish administration and day-to-day operations.
- Support planned giving, stewardship initiatives, and parish engagement activities.
- Support and provide advise on financial reporting, budgeting, cash flow monitoring, and administrative support to the Parish Priest and Parish Finance Council, ensuring sound financial stewardship.
- Supervise parish employees and support recruitment, performance development, and workforce planning.
- Coordinate building maintenance, facilities management, and contractor engagement.
- Oversee parish rental properties and assist with property transactions and projects.
- Ensure compliance with diocesan policies, safeguarding obligations, and legislative requirements.
- Drive continuous improvement and administrative efficiencies across parish operations.

- Experience in the administrative, financial, and operational functions of the Catholic church or equivalent
- Understanding and knowledge of finance and business management
- Strong understanding of working within a faith-based, community or not-for-profit environment
- Willingness to support and develop parish staff to achieve quality organisational outcomes
- High level communication and relationship building skills with an ability to engage with people from diverse backgrounds and experiences
- Skills using Microsoft office applications including Teams and Outlook
- Ability to work autonomously and have well developed written communication, organisational and time management skills with capability to manage multiple tasks with competing timelines
- As a genuine occupational requirement, the position requires that the Employee's conduct and lifestyle align with principles of Catholic Social Teaching
