About the role
Fleet and Depot Assets Services are responsible for the procurement and management of over 900 fleet items including plant, equipment and vehicles. There are three workshops; Mechanics, Small Plant and Welding, who service, maintain and manufacture the City's fleet assets and infrastructure, providing a valuable service to the City.
The Heavy Duty Mechanic (Trade Assistant) will be responsible for a variety of repairs and maintenance work across the City’s vast fleet of plant and equipment with a focus on safety and completing work to the highest standards.
The position will carry out work to the highest quality as required and as efficiently as possible taking into account best practice and standard times for each task.
Key accountabilities include, but are not limited to;
- Carry out service, maintenance and repairs of the City’s plant and equipment in accordance with manufacturer's specifications and best practice to ensure safety and maximum utilisation of the fleet
- Report plant and equipment faults, misuse and breakages
- Document all required information on services/repairs and maintenance
About you
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Current WA HR class Driver’s Licence
- Current First Aid Certificate
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate is required
- Trade Certificate and Safety Awareness Certificate are desirable

The salary for this position will be $90,348.10 per annum, depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
