- Step into a trusted, long-standing regional credit function
- Genuine handover and mentoring provided
- Lead credit and accounts receivable across Australia and New Zealand
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Credit Manager to lead the credit and accounts receivable function across the Volution Group's businesses in Australia and New Zealand, part of the global Volution Group plc (LSE: FAN).
Reporting to the Finance Director, you will work closely with Accounts Receivable teams and business leaders across Australia and New Zealand to optimise credit processes, strengthen controls and support cash flow and working capital performance.
The opportunity
This hands-on position combines day-to-day credit management with team leadership, process improvement and broader regional responsibility. You will work collaboratively with Finance, Sales and Customer Service teams to manage credit risk while maintaining strong commercial and customer relationships.
A key focus of the role will be building on the strong relationships and knowledge established by the current Credit Manager over more than 20 years. A genuine handover and knowledge-transfer period is planned, providing you with the opportunity to understand the businesses, their customers and their long-standing internal relationships.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the implementation and continuous improvement of credit management practices across the region
- Identifying emerging credit risks and supporting appropriate mitigation and recovery strategies
- Preparing cash collection forecasts, portfolio reports and practical insights for management
- Identifying opportunities to improve systems, reporting, automation and operational efficiency by introducing and leveraging relevant technology
- Supporting appropriate financial controls, segregation of duties and audit requirements
- Partnering with Sales and Customer Service teams to resolve customer queries, payment disputes and complex account matters
- Assisting with significant customer negotiations and repayment arrangements when required
About you
You are an experienced credit professional who is ready to take on broader regional responsibility. You bring sound commercial judgement, and a practical approach to decision making.
Just as importantly, you are a natural relationship-builder who listens well, earns trust and understands the importance of preserving established customer and internal relationships. Your customer focus will be a key strength as you build your knowledge of Volution’s long-standing customer relationships and business history.
To be successful, you will ideally bring:
- A qualification in Accounting, Commerce, Business, Finance or a related discipline would be advantageous.
- Current membership of the Australian Institute of Credit Management (AICM), together with a Certified Credit Executive (CCE) qualification.
- Strong experience in credit management and accounts receivable, preferably within a manufacturing, wholesale or distribution workplace
- A relationship-led approach and the ability to build trust with customers, colleagues and senior stakeholders
- Demonstrated experience improving cash collection, aged debt or DSO performance
- A practical understanding of commercial trade credit, credit risk assessment and debt recovery
- The ability to work effectively across multiple sites, business units, brands and stakeholder groups
- Confidence using multiple ERP systems and defining the financial reports and data your team requires
- Knowledge and understanding of contract law, particularly the interpretation and application of commercial terms and conditions, would be highly regarded
Why join the team?
You will be joining an established organisation where long-standing customer and employee relationships are highly valued.
A genuine handover and knowledge-transfer period will allow you to build on an already well-established foundation with confidence. This is not a role where you will be expected to start cold; you will have the opportunity to listen, learn and develop the relationships required to succeed.
The role offers the opportunity to make a genuine impact while continuing to develop your leadership, commercial and regional credit management experience. You will also have the backing of an international listed group while working within locally operated businesses that value practical decision-making, continuous improvement and long-term investment in their people.
