About This Opportunity
UQ Sport is seeking an experienced and proactive HR Principal Consultant to join a close-knit Human Resources team supporting one of the most active, visible and community-connected parts of the UQ experience. This broad generalist role will combine trusted HR advice, operational excellence and continuous improvement, with the opportunity to shape a purposeful, inclusive and high-performing employee experience across a dynamic organisation that enriches student life through sport, recreation, facilities and connection.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Provide end-to-end HR advice and support across the employee lifecycle, including performance, conduct, employee relations, workforce data, contracts and employment correspondence.
- Partner with managers to interpret employment legislation, policies and enterprise agreements, while building confidence in the practical application of employment conditions.
- Support operational HR processes, including employee records, payroll data, compliance requirements, Blue Card requirements, mandatory learning and HumanForce time and attendance administration.
- Contribute to strategic and continuous improvement initiatives, including enterprise bargaining preparation, workforce planning for the new Fitness Centre, salary review processes and improvements to HR systems, processes and reporting.

About You
- Demonstrated experience in a broad generalist HR role, with the ability to balance operational delivery and strategic thinking.
- Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial relations principles and enterprise agreements.
- Experience managing employee relations matters with professionalism, discretion and sound judgement.
- Ability to provide practical, solution-focused advice to managers and employees across a diverse workforce.
- Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities, deadlines and a varied case load.
- High attention to detail and a robust commitment to accurate employee records, workforce data and employment documentation.
- Confidence working across multiple systems, including time and attendance systems, and adapting to manual or evolving processes where required.
- A collaborative, inclusive and continuous improvement mindset, with strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
