Yard & Transport Supervisor - Full Time, Permanent - Riverview, QLDWe are seeking an experienced and hands-on Yard & Transport Supervisor to lead our Client's growing operations team on site in Riverview, QLD.
This role is critical to ensuring the safe, efficient and compliant movement, storage and coordination of products and transport assets on site while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.If you're a proactive leader with strong organisational skills and a passion for safety, efficiency and team development, this is your chance to step into a key role within a rapidly expanding team.About the RoleThe Yard & Transport Supervisor is responsible for coordinating daily yard and transport functions, ensuring the effective utilisation of yard resources, mobile plant and transport assets.
With a strong focus on safety, compliance and accuracy, you will oversee load scheduling, truck loading/unloading, inventory control and subcontractor management.Communication is critical; you will act as the central link between production, transport providers, site leadership and yard staff-ensuring smooth operations, timely information flow and continuous improvement across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational & Transport ManagementOversee daily load scheduling, truck loading/unloading and transport coordinationEnsure compliance with all Chain of Responsibility (CoR) legislationDrive cost improvements through effective fleet and asset utilisationManage relationships with transport providers and subcontractorsYard & Inventory ControlMaintain accurate daily stock reconciliations, cycle counts and stocktakesOptimise yard storage locations for improved efficiency and profitabilityMonitor and order yard raw materials and ensure maximum utilisation of mobile plantProvide strong leadership to yard and transport staff,



including training and developmentLead daily and weekly toolbox talksCommunicate effectively with internal and external stakeholdersIdentify roadblocks impacting safety, performance or profitabilitySafety & ComplianceConduct safety walks and audits to ensure adherence to safe work proceduresPromote a strong safety culture, including PPE compliance and hazard reportingEnsure safe loading practices in accordance with CoR and workplace safety standardsEnvironmental & Quality ResponsibilitiesRespond promptly to spillages, incidents and near missesSupport the improvement of yard and transport quality systemsReport any system failures and contribute to preventative actionsYour Key Performance IndicatorsAccurate, on-time load scheduling and dispatchSafe and efficient truck loading/unloading, every timeCompliance with CoR and internal safety standardsAccurate daily inventory acceptance and cycle countsStreamlined yard processes improving efficiency and cost savingsYou will be required to work safely around:Mobile plant and transport truck interactionsWorking at heights on truck decksOutdoor environments (heat and weather exposure)Manual handling tasks and slippery surfacesSkills & Experience You'll NeedPrevious and proven supervision or leadership experience in transport, logistics, yard or warehousingStrong understanding of Chain of Responsibility requirementsExcellent communication and stakeholder management skillsAbility to lead, train and develop a diverse teamStrong organisational and problem-solving abilitiesCommitment to safety and continuous improvementWhy Apply?
