Business Development Manager - Mining + Civil Equipment OEM
New-business BDM role based in South-West Sydney (Ingleburn), with a genuine regional NSW remit — the Hunter, plus mining, civil construction and hire markets
World-leading industrial equipment manufacturer — 30+ years in market, a category-defining flagship range and preferred-supplier status with some of the largest resource and hire companies in the country
Part of a large, diversified group — the stability, resources and career development opportunities of a major business with the pace and autonomy of a lean, entrepreneurial team
About The Company
This Australia-based business is a world leader in the design, manufacture, distribution and servicing of innovative industrial equipment.
As part of a diversified group of companies, it pairs the backing and resources of a large organisation with the agility of a smaller, hands-on operation.
Its reputation has been built on a flagship product range with a 20-year track record — reliable, durable, energy- and cost-efficient equipment that has made it a supplier of choice across the mining, hire and civil construction sectors.
As the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in Australia, its in-house engineering team can custom-design and build to specification, and the range now extends into renewable and energy-efficient technology, including solar, lithium-battery and hybrid-powered solutions.
Deal values span site-level, ad-hoc sales through to strategic head-office fleet and project sales ($1M+).
The Impact You'll Make
This is a hunting role.
You'll own recent client acquisition across NSW while unlocking cross-sell and up-sell in existing and dormant accounts (mainly Tier 1/2 clients in mining, civil, hire, councils, utilities, etc.)
— representing the full product range at both site and head-office level.
Day to day, that means running a structured, self-directed outbound motion: building targeted hitlists, working them with discipline across phone, email and Sales Navigator, and holding a consistently high cadence of client meetings to keep a healthy pipeline moving through a typical three-month sales cycle.
You'll work alongside Account Managers and product specialists, get in front of site-based and head-office decision-makers alike, and travel into the regions where the opportunity is.
As newer product lines release, you'll be first to open the doors.
A detailed position description is available to shortlisted candidates.
The Experience You'll Bring
Ideally 3+ years selling technical, light-industrial and/or capital equipment into relevant NSW markets — mining, civil construction and hire — e.g. lighting towers, generators, telehandlers, lifting equipment, pumps, portable buildings, forklifts, vehicles or similar.
Technical equipment sales into adjacent industries will also be considered.
A genuinely structured approach to outbound prospecting, pipeline generation and new-client conversion — comfortable selling at both site and head-office level, with a track record of hitting target.
Energy, curiosity and a go-getter mentality — self-directed, resilient and motivated by activity as much as outcome, with the technical aptitude (and appetite) to get across the product.
A collaborative, accountable style that suits a lean, high-trust team where initiative is rewarded and results are visible.
On offer: a competitive base salary plus fully maintained vehicle, quarterly KPI bonus and an uncapped commission scheme.
