These appointments have been specifically established to support the Emergency Department during a planned period of service renewal and workforce transition.Working as part of a dedicated consultant team, successful applicants will play an important caretaker role, providing clinical leadership, supporting junior medical staff and ensuring continuity of safe, high-quality emergency care while a permanent consultant workforce is recruited and transitioned into the service.

The OpportunityAs a Staff Specialist in Emergency Medicine, you will:Provide specialist emergency care across a broad spectrum of presentations.Support the Emergency Department through a period of workforce transition and service stabilisation.Deliver clinical leadership and mentorship to junior medical, nursing and multidisciplinary staff.Work collaboratively with hospital leadership to maintain service performance and patient outcomes.Contribute to a positive culture focused on clinical excellence,

effective, evidence based and patient centred.Mandatory requirements of this role include: Admitting, consultative, diagnostic, procedural, outpatient, telehealth and on‐call services as determined and required by HNELHD Attendance and availability during rostered work hours and whilst on call including clinical handover, clinical supervision, teaching and for emergency and routine care as determined and required by HNELHD.Provision of education and research as determined and required by HNELHD A primary medical degree registrable with AHPRA and Fellowship of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine and‐or overseas trained specialist pathways.
Evidence of being a medical expert, demonstrated by recent and comprehensive experience in Emergency MedicineEvidence of being a scholar, maintains medical professional development and has the ability to assist other staff, including trainees in the acquisition and development of knowledge.
