About the RoleThe construction arm of a nationally recognised retail organisation is seeking an experienced and hands-on Handyman to join our Queensland-based team.
This division manages ongoing maintenance, upgrades, and fit-out projects across the company's retail network.ABN Engagement: $40 - $50 per hour + GSTThis is a hands-on and varied role ideal for a jack-of-all-trades with a strong practical mindset.
The Handyman will carry out day-to-day maintenance, repairs, and light construction or fit-out tasks across multiple retail and warehouse sites.
The position can be offered as a full-time role or structured under your own ABN for greater flexibility.Key ResponsibilitiesUndertake general maintenance, repairs, and upkeep across retail and warehouse sitesCarry out basic carpentry, painting, plastering, welding, and minor plumbing or electrical tasks (where licensed)Assist with recent store fit-outs, refurbishments, and layout modificationsInstall shelves, fixtures, and signage as requiredCoordinate and oversee subcontractors on smaller projectsMaintain tools, vehicles,



and ensure work areas meet safety and quality standardsProvide practical onsite solutions and communicate effectively with internal teamsTravel across multiple retail and warehouse sites throughout Queensland as requiredSkills and ExperienceProven experience as a Handyman, Maintenance Technician, or similar roleBroad trade knowledge (carpentry, painting, welding, roofing, tiling, or general repairs)Strong practical skills and ability to complete varied hands‐on tasksPhysically fit, reliable, and able to work independentlyValid driver's licence and own reliable transport essentialTrade qualification (carpentry, joinery, or general maintenance) desirableSound problem‐solving ability and attention to detailWhat's on OfferABN EngagementStable, full-time position based in Queensland with a reputable national organisationOngoing pipeline of work within the construction and maintenance divisionOpportunities for career progression and development into project or site coordination rolesSupportive and safety-focused team environment
