We are seeking an experienced higher education professional with expertise in risk, quality and compliance to join our Executive Management Team.

Working closely with the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Management Team and the Institute's governance committees, you will provide leadership and strategic advice across enterprise risk management, quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
Your work will help ensure the Institute maintains effective governance, robust quality systems and a culture of continuous improvement.

The Opportunity
As Head of Risk, Quality and Compliance, you will provide leadership and strategic advice across the Institute's risk, quality and compliance functions.
Working collaboratively with the Executive Management Team and directly with the Chair of the Audit and Risk Management Committee, you will provide independent assurance, evidence and advice that supports effective governance, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
As Head of Risk, Quality and Compliance, you will:
Lead the Institute's risk, quality and compliance portfolio,
supporting a culture of continuous improvement across the organisation.
Provide expert advice to the Chief Executive Officer, Executive Management Team and governance committees on matters relating to risk, quality, compliance and organisational effectiveness.
Develop, implement and monitor enterprise risk management and quality assurance frameworks that support informed decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Oversee institutional compliance with the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF), the ESOS legislative framework and other relevant regulatory requirements.
Lead the development and maintenance of institutional policies, procedures and governance documentation, ensuring they remain current, effective and aligned with organisational priorities.
Develop and enhance management information, reporting and assurance systems that provide reliable evidence to support governance, risk management and continuous improvement.
Prepare high-quality reports, analyses and recommendations for the Audit and Risk Management Committee and other governance and management committees.
Foster collaborative relationships across academic and skilled areas to strengthen quality systems, embed good governance practices and support organisational improvement.
Lead and develop the Risk, Quality and Compliance team to deliver high-quality outcomes and professional service.
About You
You are an experienced higher education professional with expertise in risk, quality, compliance or governance who is who is ready to take the next step in your career.
You will bring:
Experience in risk, quality, compliance or governance within the Australian higher education sector.
A sound understanding of the Higher Education Standards Framework (HESF), TEQSA requirements and the ESOS legislative framework.
Well-developed analytical, conceptual and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex information and provide practical advice.
Demonstrated experience developing and implementing quality, risk or compliance frameworks within a regulated environment.
Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-quality reports, policies and governance papers.
Experience supporting governance committees or preparing papers for executive or Board-level committees will be highly regarded.
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative relationships across academic and professional teams.
The confidence to work independently while contributing positively as a member of the Executive Management Team.
Relevant postgraduate qualifications or an equivalent combination of qualifications and professional experience.
