You will work closely with internal stakeholders, stores personnel, suppliers and contractors to ensure materials and services are available when required and procured in accordance with relevant policies, procedures and legislation.Key responsibilities will include:Supporting compliant procurement of goods and servicesProviding advice to staff regarding procurement policies, procedures, quotations, tenders and expressions of interestCoordinating supplier engagement and monitoring supplier performanceAssisting with RFQ and tender documentation and evaluation processesSupporting the use of online procurement and purchasing systemsCoordinating biannual stocktakes and reconciling inventory recordsMonitoring supply levels,



lead times and potential service interruptionsSupporting the efficient operation of council stores and depotsDelivering procurement guidance and training to internal stakeholdersPromoting value for money, probity, transparency and continuous improvementEnsuring procurement activities appropriately consider WHS, environmental and operational risksAbout youYou will be a detail-oriented procurement professional who can balance compliance requirements with operational priorities.
You will be comfortable working autonomously while also collaborating with a small team and stakeholders across the organisation.To be considered, you will possess:A Certificate IV in Procurement or an equivalent qualification, or at least four years' relevant experience in a similar environmentA current Class C driver licenceDemonstrated procurement, purchasing or supply-chain experienceExperience preparing or administering quotations, RFQs, tenders or supplier agreementsStrong written and verbal communication skillsSound attention to detail and record-management capabilityThe ability to interpret and apply policies, procedures and delegationsStrong stakeholder, supplier and relationship-management skillsA proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous improvementA strong commitment to integrity, accountability and workplace safetyHighly regardedThe following experience will be advantageous:Local government or broader public-sector procurement experienceKnowledge of local government tendering and procurement requirementsUnderstanding of Section 55 of the Local Government ActExperience with TechnologyOne, VendorPanel or similar procurement systemsInventory, stores or stocktake experienceBudget administration experienceExperience procuring plant, equipment, PPE, operational materials or professional servicesContract detailsFull-time, 70-hour fortnightTerm contract through to June ****Based in Casino, NSWThis chance would suit an experienced Procurement Officer, Purchasing Officer, Contracts and Procurement Officer or Supply and Procurement Coordinator looking to contribute to essential community services within a regional council environment.
