Individual Me Disability Support is a registered NDIS provider committed to delivering high-quality, person-centred supports that empower people with disability to live independently, build meaningful lives, and achieve their goals.
As our services continue to expand throughout South East Queensland, we are seeking experienced, motivated and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our growing team based in the East Burpengary region.
Our supports include:
Supported Independent Living (SIL)
Community Participation
Capacity Building Supports
High Intensity and Complex Supports
Behaviour Support implementation
Short Term Accommodation (STA) and Respite
About the Role
This position offers a variety of work across Supported Independent Living and Community Participation.
Successful applicants must be flexible and available to work across a rotating roster which may include:
Day shifts
Afternoon and evening shifts
Weekend shifts
Sleepover shifts
Active overnight shifts where required
Community participation shifts
As a participant-focused organisation, rosters are developed around participant needs while also ensuring fairness and equity across our workforce.
About You
We are looking for people who are passionate about supporting others and who demonstrate professionalism, accountability and a commitment to continuous improvement.
You will ideally possess:
Certificate III in Individual Support, Disability or Community Services completed (minimum)
Certificate IV or higher qualifications highly regarded
Current First Aid and CPR
NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
Working with Children Check (Blue Card) or ability to obtain
Current Driver Licence
Reliable insured vehicle
Smartphone
NDIS Quality, Safety and You Module
Medication competency (or willingness to obtain)
Manual Handling competency (or willingness to obtain)
Mental Health First Aid (desirable)
What You'll Bring
Solid communication and interpersonal skills
A genuine passion for supporting people with disability
Understanding of person-centred practice and human rights
Ability to work independently and collaboratively
Experience supporting participants with complex support needs, mental health or behaviours of concern (desirable)
Sound understanding of positive behaviour support and restrictive practicesExcellent documentation and reporting skills
Strong time management and organisational skills
Commitment to safeguarding participants and promoting dignity, respect and choice.
What You'll Be Doing
Your role may include:
Personal care
Medication assistance and administration
Domestic assistance
Community access and transport
Supporting participants to attend appointments
Meal planning and preparation
Skill development and capacity building
Supporting participant goals
Completing accurate progress notes and incident reporting
Working alongside families and allied health professionals
Maintaining a safe and supportive home environment
Promoting participant independence and decision making
