We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our busy and friendly Sydney Mechanical team.
The role is suitable for a qualified candidate who has Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) design experience on building projects.We are looking for someone that is able to work on a wide range of projects with an ability to manage workload on several projects at different stages of completion.

The role will enable the successful applicant to develop in a professional and personal sense and to forge a rewarding career path, in a successful global consulting organisation.Day to day tasks would involve:Support the design, planning and delivery of HVAC systems on a wide range of healthcare, commercial, data centres, retail, defence, industrial and educational building projects.Demonstrate technical engineering knowledge of heat load calculations, equipment and reticulation sizing and selection, coordination, and documentationSupport Project Technical Leaders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to standard.Conduct Site inspections, monitoring installations, testing and commissioning of mechanical systemsAssist in HVAC design projects in accordance with code and company quality standardsContribute to tender submissions and project reportingBring value to in-house design/project meetingsAdhere to Stantec professional standards,
ethics and Stantec quality proceduresTo be successful for this role you'll need:Hold a Mechanical Engineer Degree or equivalentIdeally have 3-5 years previous HVAC design engineering experience in Consulting within the Building services industryKnowledge of the Building Code of Australia and relevant Australian StandardsWorking knowledge of Revit, AutoCAD or other similar industry softwareWillingness to establish and maintain client relationships to formulate repeat opportunitiesExcellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to prioritise workloads to meet deadlinesPositive, can-do attitude and strong work ethicAbout StantecThe Stantec community unites approximately 34,000 employees working in over 450 locations across six continents.
