Mechanical Design Engineer – Industrial MachineryAn established Brisbane engineering consultancy is seeking a hands‐on Mechanical Design Engineer to work across industrial machinery, materials handling and fabricated equipment.This opportunity will suit a mechanically minded engineer who enjoys solving practical problems from first principles, not someone focused primarily on project management, maintenance or producing CAD models without understanding the engineering behind them.You will work across varied industries and technologies, designing real equipment that is manufactured, installed and put to work.Working as part of an experienced engineering team, you will take design work from problem definition through to practical, buildable solutions.Your work will include:Designing industrial machinery, materials-handling equipment and fabricated systemsDeveloping 3D models and workshop-ready drawings using Autodesk InventorCompleting calculations to support and verify your designsAssessing structural loads and using FEA where appropriateDesigning around motors, actuators, chains, sprockets, frames and mechanical movementApplying relevant Australian Standards and design codesConsidering fabrication, installation, maintenance and safety throughout the designYou will ideally bring:A Mechanical Engineering qualificationDirect design experience involving machinery, materials handling,



mechanical equipment or fabricated systemsStrong mechanical fundamentals and the ability to work through practical calculationsProfessional 3D CAD experience, preferably with Autodesk InventorExperience producing detailed drawings for fabrication or manufactureAttention to detail and a willingness to check your own workA focused, self-managing work styleA genuine interest in remaining technically hands‐onThis is a mechanical machinery‐design position.
