We are seeking an experienced Machinery Operator to join the team at Buncrana Nominees Pty Ltd in Jerilderie, NSW.
This is a full-time position based on our working farm, where you will be responsible for operating and maintaining a variety of agricultural machinery.
This role is integral to our family farming operations, ensuring that all machinery runs efficiently and that seasonal tasks are completed to the highest standard.
You will work in a hands‐on workplace, contributing directly to the success of our farming enterprise.
Key responsibilities
Operate a range of agricultural machinery including Tractors, Sprayer, harvesters, and other farm equipment in accordance with safety standards and operational procedures
Perform routine maintenance and pre‐operation checks on all machinery to ensure safe and efficient operation
Maintain detailed records of machinery usage, maintenance schedules, and fuel consumption
Conduct minor repairs and troubleshooting on farm equipment, liaising with external service providers when major repairs are required
Prepare machinery and equipment for seasonal operations, including ploughing, planting, and harvesting activities
Work flexibly during peak farming periods to meet harvest and planting deadlines
Operate machinery safely at all times, adhering to farm safety protocols and relevant legislation
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of machinery storage areas and workshop facilities




What we're looking for
Proven experience operating agricultural machinery on a commercial farm, with a minimum of 2–3 years' experience in a similar role
Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to perform basic maintenance and repairs
Valid driver's licence with experience operating heavy vehicles and farm equipment ( looking for experience driving a sprayer)
Knowledge of farm safety practices and commitment to working safely at all times
Physical fitness and ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team
Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail in maintaining machinery and records
Willingness to learn and adapt to new machinery and operational methods
Preferred: experience in machinery operation in cereal cropping
