This is a newly created role designed to strengthen student support services across our Broken Hill campus and surrounding communities, providing an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the educational experience and success of learners.The Education Support Officer is supervised by the Teacher-in-Charge or Head Teacher and works under the direction of a teacher as appropriate.
You will provide support to a diverse range of learners, including students who may face challenges associated with studying in regional, rural and remote locations.
You will play a key role in fostering engagement, removing barriers to learning,



and ensuring positive student outcomes remain at the forefront of your decision-making.About youYou will love this role if you thrive on solving problems and helping others.
You will be a part of a dynamic team, supporting students to successfully carry out tasks and understand their learning materials and concepts whilst creatingan innovativeand exciting educational environment.
You will be technologically savvy with prior demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word and Excel and online meeting platforms like MS Teams to be able to support students both face to face as well as via connecting platforms.To succeed, you will need strong organisational skills, attention to detail, confidence liaising with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to work proactively across multiple priorities in a fast‐paced environmentWe are looking for motivated and engaged individuals who have the ability to meet the following selection criteria:A Diploma of Nursing or Bachelor of Nursing as a minimum qualificationMust be either an Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration and recent clinical Industry experience in an acute areaAbility to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the discipline.High-level interpersonal and communication skills,



including the ability to be proactive and show initiative and ability to explain ideas in a transparent and concise manner.Commitment and ability to support learning in an adult environment and a demonstrated ability to motivate and encourage students.Ability to establish effective working relationships with people from a diverse range of backgrounds and to provide quality customer service as part of a broader team.Skills in the use of relevant information and communication technologies.Note: This role does not teach or prepare lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessment.Our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusionTAFE NSW is committed to building a culturally safe and inclusive workplace that reflects the diversity of the communities we serve.
