WorkPac is seeking an experienced Occupational Health & Wellbeing Advisor to join our client's Health & Safety team based in Townsville.
This role is ideal for an allied health or injury management qualified looking to make a meaningful impact by leading injury management, return-to-work, and occupational health initiatives across a large mining operation.
About Our Client
Our client is a well-established mining organisation operating a large-scale site in North Queensland.
They are seeking an experienced Occupational Health & Wellbeing Advisor to lead injury management, return-to-work, and occupational health programs while partnering closely with operational leaders to support a safe, healthy, and high-performing workforce.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, driving continuous improvement, and making a meaningful impact on employee health and wellbeing across multiple mining operations.
What you will be doing
Manage workplace injury and workers' compensation cases from start to finish.
Coordinate return-to-work and rehabilitation programs.
Liaise with WorkCover Queensland, treating doctors, and allied health providers.
Lead occupational health, health surveillance, and fitness-for-work programs.
Develop and deliver injury prevention and employee wellbeing initiatives.




Conduct health risk assessments and identify workplace hazards.
Analyse injury data and recommend continuous improvement initiatives.
Coach leaders and stakeholders on injury management and WHS best practice.
Ensure compliance with WHS legislation, company policies, and workers' compensation requirements.
Travel regularly between Phosphate Hill, Mount Isa, Townsville Port, and the Townsville office.
What you will need
Certificate IV in Personal Injury Management or a degree in Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Exercise Physiology, or a related allied health discipline.
Minimum 5 years' experience in injury management and occupational health.
Experience within mining, manufacturing, construction, or another heavy industry is highly regarded.
Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, workers' compensation, return-to-work, and risk management.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Current Australian Driver Licence.
