About the opportunity
The Flight Nurse is responsible for the nursing care and clinical management of patients requiring aeromedical transport by NSW Air Ambulance, between country and metropolitan hospitals/ health facilities within NSW and interstate.
Responsibilities also include triaging of patients, clinical care of patients prior to and after flights, administrative duties and ground based duties.
This is an opportunity to join a dynamic team of critical care nurse/midwives and work on board our fleet of Beechcraft B350C aircraft and Pilatus PC24 jets which have been designed by the very clinicians who work on them.

Employment Conditions
Maintain a level of physical fitness appropriate to the role
Meet the physical/height limitations necessary to ensure the Flight Nurse can be safely seated, exit the aircraft from the emergency exit and operate safely in the aircraft
Have no specific phobias or fears relating to working at a height and is able to work in a confined space
Applicants may be required to participate in pre-employment drug testing and to meet the requirements of the Drug and Alcohol policy




Ability to satisfactorily complete Flight Nurse Scenario based assessments to test situational awareness and physical fitness
Applicants must be willing to undertake a health and fitness assessment as part of the recruitment process
Employment is subject to passing a medical assessment by an authorised person
Satisfactorily complete and maintain medical assessments as published by NSW Ambulance in addition to any legislative requirements
Satisfactorily complete all clinical and operational training requirements of the Flight Nurse scope of practice
Ability to swim
Must have a current driver's license
There is no entitlement to Transferred Employees Benefit (TEB) or travel allowance associated with this opportunity.
