Join a purpose-driven organisation where bold ideas are encouraged, collaboration drives progress, and your growth fuels our shared success.Role OverviewThe Simulation Technician reports to the Maintenance Manager (or delegate) and is responsible for performing all preventative and corrective maintenance on training devices in a safe and effective manner.
The goal is to ensure maximum availability and reliability of training systems to support successful training outcomes for end users.As a Simulation Technician, you'll be at the heart of aviation training technology, responsible for maintaining and repairing some of the most advanced flight simulators in the world.
These include Level D full flight simulators - devices so realistic they're certified to replace actual flight hours.
You'll work hands-on with complex systems like electromechanical motion platforms, immersive visual environments, and high-performance computing clusters.
When something goes wrong, you'll be the one to diagnose and fix it,



ensuring pilots can train without interruption.DescriptionExecute all maintenance tasks efficientlyEnsure maintenance activities comply with internal and external standards/regulatory requirementsSupport site-based engineering development by assisting with investigationsHandle parts shipping in accordance with export control and security protocolsAdhere to CAE's Quality Management System and contribute to continuous improvement initiativesComply with CAE's Workplace, Health and Safety Management SystemMinimum QualificationsOpen to people with technical or trade experience, e.g. electronic technician, electrician, IT, hardware engineering, etcAbility to gain an NV-1 Security Clearance (I.e. must be an Australian Citizen)Flexibility for shift work – our hours of operation are between 6am and midnight (shifts are 8hrs long)Preferred QualificationsAvionics knowledge and experienceAviation and/or Defence industry experienceExperience work on simulator devices is a nice to haveLocationThis is an on-site role.Opportunity to make a considerable impact on Australian defence and securityExciting career paths in a truly global businessAccess to a generous ADF Reserve Service PolicyWellness subsidy... and more!
