Early Childhood Teacher | Preschool Room Leader
Are you an experienced Early Childhood Teacher ready to lead a preschool room where children's ideas, questions and capabilities genuinely shape the curriculum?
Kids Planet Academy North Ryde is seeking a confident, reflective and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to lead our preschool room.
This is a hands‐on leadership position for an educator who understands preschool-aged children, can inspire and guide a team, and wants to deliver much more than a standard school-readiness program.

About the role
As our Preschool Room Leader, you will lead the day-to-day operation and educational direction of the preschool room while working closely with the Service Manager, Educational Leader and room educators.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading a high-quality, play-based and inquiry-driven preschool programPlanning, implementing and evaluating meaningful learning experiences aligned with the EYLF V2.0 and National Quality StandardLeading our school transition program while maintaining a thoughtful balance between intentional teaching, play,
inquiry and child‐led learningObserving and analysing children's learning, development and progressMaintaining meaningful and high-quality curriculum documentationLeading critical reflection and contributing to continuous improvementSupporting and mentoring educators to strengthen their teaching practices, confidence and professional knowledgeCreating an organised, engaging, inclusive and responsive learning environmentEstablishing clear expectations and supporting the consistent daily operation of the roomBuilding respectful and collaborative relationships with children and familiesContributing to the service Quality Improvement PlanSupporting excursions, community partnerships, learning exhibitions and other curriculum initiativesPromoting a strong culture of child safety, participation, inclusion and wellbeing
About you
To be considered for this position, you must have:
A Bachelor or Master qualification in Early Childhood Education recognised by ACECQACurrent NESA accreditation, or eligibility to obtain accreditationA minimum of two years' experience working directly with preschool-aged children in a preschool room within an early childhood education and care settingA strong understanding of the learning, development and emotional needs of children aged three to five yearsDemonstrated experience planning, implementing and evaluating a high-quality preschool curriculumStrong knowledge of the EYLF V2.0,
National Quality Standard and Education and Care Services National RegulationsThe confidence and capability to lead, guide and mentor a team of educatorsStrong written communication, curriculum documentation and critical-reflection skillsThe ability to establish trusting and professional partnerships with children, families and colleaguesA current NSW Working with Children CheckCurrent approved First Aid, CPR, asthma and anaphylaxis trainingCurrent child-protection trainingFull Australian working rightsPrevious experience as a Preschool Room Leader is strongly preferred.
However, an experienced preschool ECT who can demonstrate strong leadership capability and readiness to step into a room leadership position may also be considered.
